Jennifer Wines is used to taking big risks. So, it’s fitting that this former private wealth advisor – previously advising individuals with immense wealth – recently left her successful career, making a life-changing pivot. “After over a decade in traditional, private wealth management, it became clear to me that the way we think about value, money and wealth is fundamentally changing. So, I decided to roll the dice, take a risk, and focus entirely on the future of wealth, which includes web3.”
Miami, USA Web3 is empowered because it empowers Earlier this year, Jennifer founded Invisible Wealth, which is an innovative framework for reconceptualizing value, and, therefore wealth. Invisible Wealth provides strategic, future-forward advisory services.
With 12+ years’ experience at some of the world’s leading private wealth management institutions, namely Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Fidelity, this vivacious finance futurist is redefining wealth for the ‘new wealth paradigm’ – otherwise known as the future of wealth. Jennifer’s strategy – combining her legal background (she holds a Juris Doctor from Boston’s Suffolk University Law School), and expertise as a certified private wealth advisor (designation from Chicago Booth’s Business School) – is catalyzing her entrepreneurial spirit and vision for the ‘new wealth paradigm’.
Jennifer believes that the future of wealth and the future of the internet (web3) are inherently interconnected. And for her, part of her reimagining wealth journey began with Bitcoin.
“Web3 introduces new ways of interfacing with money and value: how we make, spend and invest it. And this is critically important for the future of wealth.”
Born in Mexico to an Irish mother and a Mexican father, Jennifer grew up between Mexico, Canada and the United States, moving 10 times by age 20. Now based in Miami, she’s an articulate speaker and author of an eagerly anticipated book Invisible Wealth, due for release in Q1 2023.
In addition, Jennifer is a founding advisory member of 100women@ Davos, a community of impact-driven women leaders and change makers which she met while in Davos during the World Economic Forum, where she focuses on philanthropic initiatives. She’s also contributed thought leadership via the New York Times, Cointelegraph, Fidelity Viewpoints and Forbes Business Development Council.
Jennifer comments that she’s seen a clear activation of web3 in the last year with more people, ideas and money supporting the vision and narrative. This amiable wealth voyager is excited to see the positive impact web3 will offer all individuals seeking to build and grow wealth, in a meaningful way. “Web3 is empowered because it empowers, which is a great example of sustainability.” Additionally, she remarks that the Metaverse is here to prove Albert Einstein’s assertion that “life is just like a game…”.
With new asset classes and investment structures coming online, Jennifer contends that this is where ‘innovative opportunity exists for individuals, private wealth management firms and family offices – on a go forward basis.’
As for mainstream adoption in web3 and the Metaverse, she sees the best way to overcome barriers to entry is by ‘expanding the reach of the narrative,’ as it helps pave the way for the adoption of innovative initiatives in the space.
“Reality is socially construed through narrative – in other words, the narrative helps to mobilize the abstraction into action.”
Described by others as highly motivated and tenacious, Jennifer says she’s someone who loves to adventure the world, so it’s no surprise that the advice to herself (and others) is to stay curious, as the future belongs to the curious. She’s also an avid music lover, commenting in a Cointelegraph article, ‘there’s rarely a time in the day when I’m not listening to music, whether it’s classical Chopin, rock, hip-hop or electro and everything in between.’
With the future in mind, she is enthusiastic about how web3 will revolutionize the future of work, decentralized finance, democratization of wealth, and introduce a new era of digital assets, all of which relate to the future of wealth.
Despite Jennifer’s apparent reticence to reveal much about herself on social media, a LinkedIn post offers a personal glimpse into her inner workings when she highlighted a quote by personal finance expert and author Nathan W. Morris: “Edit your life frequently and ruthlessly. It’s your masterpiece, after all.” She reveals that this quote ‘has always resonated with me, and beautifully sums up my motivation’ and her approach to life.
