As we step further into the digital era, the role of AI and ML in shaping the trajectory of our collective future becomes ever more pivotal. The frontiers of this transformative technology are constantly being expanded by visionaries like Jennetta George, a polymath in the tech industry who is driven by her unwavering commitment to improving lives and societies through AI.

The Power of AI in Business Strategy
Living in Miami Beach, Florida, Jennetta is the Senior Vice President of Digital and AI for AlixPartners, where her primary role is providing strategic AI consultation for corporations. She explains: “Usually, we will get a request from a company telling us the type of data they have and the business problem they are trying to solve. It is then up to me and my team to work with their executive stakeholders on how to utilize AI/ML tools to solve this problem.” As a result, Jennetta’s insights can make the difference between a company leveraging the power of AI or being left behind in an increasingly competitive digital landscape.

Beyond her corporate role, Jennetta is the CEO and Founder of her AI advisory firm, Artificially Intelligent. Her work here involves helping startups develop and implement AI strategies. While similar to her work at AlixPartners, here she specializes in early‑stage startups implementing AI strategies for their business. It ensures that startups – and not just corporates – have access to the advantages of AI and ML.

One of Jennetta’s most ambitious projects is the development of Candor.ai, an AI‑powered social networking and event management app. She’s currently coding its MVP from scratch, using Python, React, and React Native. “Candor allows you to create, host, and find events and manage your social calendar and connections both manually and with AI‑generated recommendations to help you see how to most impactfully spend your time,” she elaborates.

With Candor, she aims to tackle the loneliness epidemic and foster social innovation in a post‑pandemic world. “I don’t know anyone who hasn’t felt the effects of loneliness at some point in their adult life, so if I can build an app to help a fraction of those people, then I will feel like I served a purpose greater than myself,” she explains. This mindset underscores Jennetta’s approach to AI, underscoring its potential for fostering social innovation and solving real‑world problems.

Leveraging AI for the Greater Good
When asked about upcoming trends in the AI industry, she emphasizes the importance of regulations. She insists that rigorous regulatory bodies are needed to preserve the rights and safety of end‑users and to ensure safety and order as we continue to innovate. Jennetta has already been contributing to this area as a member of the ACT‑IAC Council of AI and Blockchain for the US government.

“My specialty is in utilizing AI, ML, and data science responsibly and ethically,” she states. “As a technical AI engineer, I have spent the past decade understanding the intricacies of the models being built, deployed, and utilized by the masses. I have also learned how easily things can go wrong if you do not put proper forethought into architecting your models or cleaning the data that you feed to your models. Thus, a lot of my time is spent educating technical and business teams on the imperative to implement responsible AI best practices for the safety of their team and their customer basis.”

She highlights the necessity of understanding data used to train models: “Data is inherently biased because humans are inherently biased, and we are the ones creating and collecting the data. If we want to create apps and machines that contain as little bias as possible, a lot of thought and effort needs to be put into the data modeling and model tuning before an AI app can be set into the wild.”

She firmly believes in the transformative potential of AI, both for end‑users and creators. “AI has the potential to shape the futures of people through their career trajectory. It is literally never too late to decide to learn a new skill, and right now, AI and computer programming are some of the best new skills to learn from a career and salary perspective,” Jennetta contends.

Looking back at her illustrious career, Jennetta recounts an example of the immense societal impact that technology can have. She played a significant role in developing a testing platform for a virtual assistant app over 1.5 billion people use daily. “This work was incredibly rewarding, and I felt like I had a huge impact on society through this engineering product,” she says, highlighting the immense societal impact that technology can have.

Through her career journey, Jennetta realized that beyond her love for AI engineering, her passion lies in advising and leading teams to solve complex problems. “I love to innovate and build things from the ground up. I love to have a strong voice and a seat at the table when the table is typically filled with middle‑aged white males… Being in this space of utilizing my skills, my confidence, and my voice to bring about change for the good of the larger team is where I thrive,” she declares.

Jennetta’s commitment to AI and her belief in its potential to create a better future is truly inspiring. Her innovative use of technology reshapes how we interact, work, and even build relationships, redefining what’s possible in our increasingly digital world. As we move forward into an uncertain future, leaders like Jennetta remind us that, with the right blend of technology, creativity, and passion, anything is possible.
