The Metaverse is not something we can see necessarily, but its impact on the IRL future will undoubtedly be seen. Hrish Lotlikar’s mission is to improve humanity through technology, give people access to more ways to earn money, and enable them to do the things they love. An especially important cause close to Hrish’s heart is empowering underrepresented communities and women into leading roles. With the technology of web3 and the Metaverse, that is possible in the future.
“I want to empower women’s realities to improve the world,” he shares. “That’s why I support initiatives such as the Women of the Future project and the Mission Impact Leadership Program. This future will be a world where women are leading and thriving to their full potential.”
As Co-Founder and CEO of SuperWorld, Hrish is building a world with the Metaverse to redefine humanity in the real world. SuperWorld is a virtual world in AR, digitally mapped over Earth. Every plot of virtual real estate in SuperWorld is an NFT that corresponds to real-world spaces and lets users buy and sell properties – and monetize activity on their land.
Hrish explains: “In the last few years since SuperWorld launched, we have democratized the Metaverse by creating new ways of experiencing the world, interacting with others, and sharing information, and I truly believe that having a platform like SuperWorld allows us to appreciate the real world while engaging in the virtual world like never before.”
Previously, Hrish co-founded Rogue Initiative Studios (partnered with director Michael Bay), a Hollywood film, TV, gaming, and immersive entertainment studio. He was also a Senior Business Developer and Global Evangelist at Toptal (backed by Andreessen Horowitz, the Rockefellers & the co-founders of Facebook and Zynga) and a venture capital investor at Spencer Trask Ventures. Hrish was an investment banker at UBS Investment Bank and HSBC Securities, specializing in public finance, corporate finance, and M&A. His educational background is a BA degree in Political Science from Rice University, and he has an MBA and MPH from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Hrish is a proponent of the “Open Metaverse,” in which virtual worlds are not in direct competition but co-exist as points along a much broader sphere where virtual worlds and the internet are aligned in support of one another rather than in opposition. This will transform how the world communicates and cultivates relationships. “I’m eager to see how we can all use the interoperability and inclusivity of the burgeoning Metaverse to build a better world here on Earth.”
Along with blockchain technology and its integration into various systems, Hrish believes the world will see a paradigm shift in industries as diverse as arts and entertainment, politics, medicine, education, banking, and more. According to Hrish, the Metaverse is the convergence of all virtual worlds, extended and augmented reality and the internet. It allows for autonomy through space, digital ecosystems, and disparate social spheres.
“The possibilities in the Metaverse are endless, but there are still those who find the notion of the Metaverse to be restrictive. This is ironic because the Metaverse encompasses everything we do and are. These barriers come down to bridging the divide between the digital and the physical world, which is a big leap for many. Still, we’re seeing more adoption and enthusiasm daily within the Web3 and Metaverse space.”
