It is said that one year in tech is equivalent to 5 years of experience in other industries. Seven years? That’s a life-long career – and a book’s worth of experiences. With seven years (and counting) in this space’s high-speed, always-on, fledging industry, Emily Rose Dallara is THE go-to web3 marketing consultant and coach. What drives her? She is single-minded in her mission to help women navigate and thrive in web3.
She’s built her career on compassion, support, and innovative business strategies, blazing the path for women into this male-dominated world of web3 and the Metaverse. It is no surprise that she hails from France, where Emily personifies the spirit of the land she calls home, of freedom, equality and fraternity. Every project she supports also characterizes those principles, especially women’s empowerment and upliftment.
There is no better exemplification of her women-first agenda than when she founded the ‘Web3 and Thrive’ podcast: it focuses on empowering women with confidence, knowledge and clarity to thrive in web3. She serves as Board Advisor at Lifetise.io, a web3 consumer finance platform that helps people plan their lives and visualize how to afford significant goals to create a financially secure life and future. She also serves as a fractional Chief Marketing Officer for multiple organizations, and is Marketing Advisor to Toya NFT Project and The Bigger Pie. Prior to this, she led marketing teams in crypto and blockchain since 2016, including Product Marketing at Bitcoin.com, Global Head of Marketing at Liquid Exchange (now part of FTX), and Head of Product Marketing at OKX Global and AAX Global.
A friend introduced Emily to cryptocurrencies in 2016, and the underlying technology she recognized presented an opportunity for women to leapfrog social change through a digital revolution. It is the foundation of web3 that aligns with Emily’s authenticity: equality, liberty, and fraternity.
“I fell into web3 with Bitcoin.com in 2016,” Emily remarks about her journey into web3. “When I started, there was no term for web3 and no Metaverse. I knew a friend of a friend who wanted to hire me. Since then, I’ve worked in all areas of the industry, from crypto trading and investments, crypto-adoption, wallets, and cloud mining, to DeFi launchpads and fundraising platforms, IDO launches, NFT collections, and Metaverse games and products.”
Over the past twelve months, this space has rapidly evolved, says Emily. Witnessing the space grow exponentially, its potential for ever more significant real-world impact continues to excite and inspire her mission. You can believe her when she says that, coming from her vast experience across the web3 ecosystem.
“This space went from a Sims game meme to a ‘Oh wait, people are actually buying into this’ state. It is fascinating how NFTs have been the leader of further adoption versus the previously failed focus on crypto as cash.”
As new as web3 may be to most people today, its development has been years in the making. Its advancement accelerates as more people meaningfully participate in the space. That’s why Emily advocates for a women first future; the expansion and strategy of web3 must remain true to its design. Web3 tools and tenets have already disrupted many industries, markets, and sectors. For raising the status of women and women-led projects in promotion and support of the future growth of the Metaverse for gender equality, inclusivity, and support are essential. “It is a women-first future. It is my mission to bring clarity on what that future looks like, how to navigate it, and who can help women in this space.”
She has a hands-on approach to web3. She dives into the proverbial deep end and learns to swim – then teaches other women to jump in and swim, too. Building a space of inclusivity, diversity, and support benefits everyone: individuals, communities, people, and businesses.
The opportunities in web3 are endless. And Emily is bullish about the future of web3 and the prospects it creates. “Right now, the focus is on gaming, NFTs, events, and land sales in the Metaverse. These create the biggest potential for community growth, wealth creation, and business development. However, once consumers start to perceive the Metaverse as an investment versus just a weird Sims-like game, that’s when web3 will blow up – much as crypto investments did. It’s all a trend cycle!”
The impact of the Metaverse will be most profoundly felt – and created – by the Gen Z population. Educating and onboarding the youth is essential to the growth of this space and the future. “I think Gen Z will lead the adoption of web3, and it will impact them much more than it does Millenials or Boomers. Why? Previous studies suggest that Gen Zs – as connected as they are – are the loneliest generation. They will adopt the Metaverse to create their most real selves and connect with others like them.”
Emily helps build a space and platform for women to thrive in web3 and the real world.
