NATALIE GLEESON

VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN CAPITAL, PURE HARVEST SMART FARMS

“Resourcefulness and human connection unlock potential.”

For Natalie Gleeson, leadership has always been about more than policies or performance metrics. To her, it’s about people – how they grow, connect, and thrive. As Vice President of Human Capital at Pure Harvest Smart Farms, one of the Middle East’s pioneering agritech companies, Natalie is reshaping how organisations think about people and culture in a world defined by uncertainty.

“I create impact by building workplaces where people don’t just work, but thrive,” she says. “By integrating neuroscience and the Future-Ready Set™, I help people strengthen their emotional intelligence (EQ), adaptability (AQ), and resourcefulness (RQ). This drives collaboration, innovation, and performance, and positively influences communities and families who benefit from healthier, more balanced lives.”

Discovering the Power of People and Culture

Natalie began her career in South Africa, navigating diverse industries before finding her true calling. Fascinated by what drives people and leadership, she pursued an MSc in the Psychology of Work and discovered neuroscience as a powerful tool for reimagining organisational culture.

“Transitioning from retail into agritech was a profound shift. I overcame skepticism by grounding my work in psychology, neuroscience, and measurable results,” she recalls.

Today, she integrates neuroscience into leadership, culture-building, and capability development – a science-driven yet human-centred approach that has become her trademark.

The Future-Ready Set™

At the heart of Natalie’s philosophy’s the Future-Ready Set™ – EQ, AQ, and RQ – capabilities she believes every professional must develop to thrive. “Resourcefulness and human connection unlock potential,” she says. “When we intentionally design culture and share knowledge, we equip people with the Future-Ready Set™ to succeed in both work and life.”

At Pure Harvest, she embedded these principles into Pure+, the company’s culture roadmap. “It connects values with performance, growth, and community. Seeing leaders embrace Pure+ not as an HR programme but as a way of working has been a career-defining moment.”

Resilience Through Life

Resilience is not just a leadership buzzword for Natalie – it’s lived experience. After many challenges, she adopted her daughter in 2013.

“That journey built deep resilience and resourcefulness – qualities I now apply to both life and leadership,” she shares. “These experiences shaped my belief that success in today’s world requires more than knowledge; it requires the Future-Ready Set™ of EQ, AQ, and RQ.”

She believes workplaces ripple far beyond the office. “Employees, leaders, and future HR professionals benefit directly. Indirectly, families and communities benefit when workplaces foster wellbeing, inclusion, and growth.”

Redefining Success

“Success is when people flourish, leaders grow others, and culture sustains itself beyond HR,” she explains. “I’m motivated by seeing transformation: when individuals unlock EQ, AQ, and RQ, they become confident, creative, and capable of making an impact well beyond their role.”

Her mantra: “Trust your voice earlier. You don’t need permission to lead – your resilience and resourcefulness will carry you further than you know.”

Women, Leadership, and Breaking Barriers

Natalie knows the stereotypes still attached to HR and senior women leaders. “HR and people leadership are still undervalued as ‘support’ roles, and women in senior positions face stereotypes,” she says. “The solution lies in bringing data and science – neuroscience, EQ, AQ, RQ, and the Future-Ready Set™ – into the conversation, showing that women leaders deliver measurable business impact.”

She has lived it herself: “Being a woman in senior leadership has meant navigating assumptions and biases. My strategy has been to use credibility, resourcefulness, and science to level the field. My identity as a woman – and as a mother through adoption – has made me more empathetic and resourceful, qualities that define my leadership.”

Her advice: “Lead with authenticity, lean into your resourcefulness, and use your voice to create opportunity for others. Your lived experiences – especially the challenging ones – can become your greatest strength and your differentiator.”

Beyond the Boardroom

While her work at Pure Harvest defines much of her professional life, Natalie’s personal pursuits reveal another side. For the past eight years, she’s served as Secretary of the Ducati Official Owners Club UAE, and has attended World Ducati Week in Italy. She’s also a familiar face at Yas Marina Circuit and Dubai Autodrome, where she participates in track days – a true speed queen.

But her most memorable ride took place far from the UAE: a daring journey from Delhi to Leh on a Royal Enfield. “It was an unforgettable adventure that really shaped how I think about courage, focus, and connection,” she says. “It taught me as much about leadership as any classroom ever could.”

Looking Ahead

Natalie sees the next decade bringing both challenges and opportunities. “AI-driven workplaces, rising demand for EQ, AQ, and RQ, and greater emphasis on wellbeing and sustainability will define the future. Human capital will no longer be about processes but about preparing people to be future-ready. My role is to ensure leaders and organisations adapt while keeping humanity at the centre.”

She’s inspired by what’s to come: “I’m excited about the intersection between neuroscience and the workplace – designing systems where people flourish, not just function. My legacy will be building cultures that are high-performing and deeply human, where future generations feel they belong, grow, and leave their own impact.”

Her message to the world is simple: “Future-Ready leaders inspire growth, connection, and thriving communities worldwide.”

A Legacy of Thriving Cultures

From her early days in South Africa to her leadership role in Dubai, Natalie’s journey has been defined by curiosity, courage, and resilience. She’s shown that HR isn’t a back-office function but a strategic driver of transformation and impact.

“Because culture defines how decisions are made, how leaders behave, and how people grow. By embedding neuroscience and the Future-Ready Set™ into workplaces, we equip people to be more emotionally intelligent, adaptable, and resourceful. This creates stronger organisations today, and a better, more sustainable society for future generations.”

Natalie Gleeson is not just preparing people for the future of work. She’s shaping a future where workplaces are more human, leaders are more empathetic, and cultures are designed to help people not just function, but flourish.
