It’s an incredible mission,” says Karen Jouve, the powerhouse cofounder and CEO of Doors Consulting Group. “Everything remains to be invented, and we’re only at the beginning of a revolution driven by profound technological and cultural change.
Karen is committed to using her position to create a positive impact, whether that’s promoting female entrepreneurship in tech, supporting high-impact projects around web3, or teaching future generations about technology’s potential. “I strive to have a positive and lasting impact on society as a whole,” Karen reflects. This influence, she explains, extends from her direct clients – large companies and public organizations – to the consumers of these entities, and, ultimately, all citizens around the world.
The revolution she speaks of is web3, an evolution of the internet that moves beyond pages and apps toward a world of decentralized, interconnected virtual realities. As a leading player in the field, Karen is uniquely positioned to have a transformative impact on our society, consumer habits, and how brands create tomorrow’s experiences.
She’s put Marseilles, France, on the web3 world map as CEO and co-founder of Doors Consulting Group. After starting her career in digital transformation consulting, Karen specialized in blockchain and web3 technologies. Doors Consulting Group is regarded as the first web3 global partner. It comprises Doors3, the first independent consulting firm specializing in web3; Doors Sport, the first web3 agency dedicated to sport; and Dive, a Metaverse and gaming hub of builders.
Leveraging Technology for Impact
“I’m convinced that technology must be an enabler for impactful actions,” Karen asserts. She views web3 as a key player in solving global issues such as trust, transparency, ethics, and diversity. Moreover, she is committed to using her position to create a positive impact, whether that’s promoting female entrepreneurship in tech, supporting high-impact projects around web3, or teaching future generations about technology’s potential.
She counts among her clients the Renault Group, Axa, Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, French Federation of Football, Française des Jeux, AMI Paris, and Valeo, providing strategies for implementing their crypto, NFT, and Metaverse projects.
“What I remember today are the values that guide me every day,” she reflects. “Nothing is impossible, and I try to prove it every day to my teams and customers.”
“I believe in the power of the collective, in surpassing oneself, in confidence and humility,” Karen says, expressing her business mantra. She points out that the web3 ecosystem is still recent, and being agile and adaptable is crucial in this space.
Passionate about technology and its use cases, Karen also speaks at many events, including NFT.NYC, Virtuality Summit, SEG3, MEWS, and Vivatech. She serves as an editor for specialized and mainstream media and teaches at many renowned institutions, including Paris Dauphine, Sciences Po Aix, and Paris School of Luxury.
Karen shares her optimistic perspective of the future: “Web3 is only in its infancy. In five to ten years, we’ll have moved into a whole new dimension that is more interactive, decentralized, immersive, and responsible. Today’s convictions will no longer be those of tomorrow because we will move into a new era of data and customer experience.”
Anticipating the Future
The possibilities of web3 are vast. It has the power to redefine the customer experience, foster operational excellence, and stimulate creativity. But what’s most exciting for Karen is the potential for a profound transformation in consumer habits, moving from a direct-to-consumer approach to direct-to-avatar and direct-to-wallet interactions.
Embracing Challenges and Triumphs
Karen regards challenges and obstacles not as hindrances but as growth accelerators. “Tomorrow, I will be fulfilled if I know that I have had a long-term impact on the future of people and businesses,” she asserts.
“Supporting projects around immersive commerce, gaming, loyalty 3.0, or the digital product passport really excites me,” Karen says. “Web3 also brings a deep philosophy based on trust, data ownership, transparency, and disintermediation.”
She also recognizes the importance of resilience and learning from failure. “In France, we are too afraid of failure, but it is the booster of any career,” she muses. “As in sport, you lose more than you win, but that’s where you learn for all.”
Her love of the transformative power of technology guides her. Karen asserts: “I’m convinced that technology must be the enabler for impactful actions. Firstly, web3 enables us to respond to many challenges like trust, transparency, ethics, and diversity. But also because environmental, diversity and ethical issues can no longer be imagined without technology.”
While Karen acknowledges the importance of training and skills development in tech, she emphasizes that being a woman has never been an obstacle or a challenge for her. “I considered that if I was in this place, it was above all for my audacity and skills,” she states. Her advice for other women forging a path in their respective fields is to trust in themselves and to surround themselves with the right people. “Make your life a dream and your dream a reality,” she encourages.
From the Sports Field to the Tech Space
But Karen’s journey into tech wasn’t a preordained path. Growing up in a town in the south of France, she was immersed in sports and nurtured an entrepreneurial spirit. It was this spirit, her time in the army, and her experience in a major consultancy firm that helped shape the values she holds today – humility, transparency, surpassing oneself, authenticity, and optimism.
Karen is a testament to the transformative power of web3 technologies. Her visionary approach and dedication to societal impact make her a true role model for women in tech and a significant player in shaping the future. As she navigates this rapidly evolving field, one thing is certain: Karen Jouve is not just a spectator; she’s an architect of the future.
