One of the first things you notice about Dr. Gabrielle Pelicci is her engaging smile and the unicorn icon behind her web3 Evangelist title on social media. But don’t imagine for a second that this fun-loving ‘Crypto native,’ web3 educator, and consultant lacks substance.
Miami-based Gabrielle has a master’s in Educational Technology from Columbia University, a doctorate in Transformative Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and advanced Cryptocurrency and Blockchain training from Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Gabrielle (also known online as ‘Dr. Gabby’) teaches the fundamental principles of blockchain, web3, NFTs, and the Metaverse. She loves this work, because ‘for the average person, “crypto” is imaginary money, the “metaverse” is a video game, and “web3” is a new version of the internet.’ As a public speaker and trainer, she regularly presents at web3 conferences including DayKamp, Immerse Global, Bitcoin and Blockchain. Gabrielle’s focus here is educating ‘web3-curious people who want to understand emerging technologies and future trends so they can become early adopters and have a competitive advantage in their personal and professional lives.’
Despite being a self-confessed long-time ‘technology nerd,’ Gabrielle first spent 20 years as a non-traditional holistic healthcare healer and professor before joining web3. During this time, she taught mind-body medicine at leading universities, published 50+ articles, and consulted for hundreds of wellness businesses. And along the way, she traveled to forty countries to study various kinds of medicine, obtaining certifications in massage, yoga, reiki, meditation, energy healing, and health coaching.
She’s decidedly passionate about supporting women in web3, hence her current work as an entrepreneur, consulting for several web3 startups. One of these is as a Sales & Marketing Specialist at Mission Impact, ‘a global leadership training program focusing on business-critical web3 training, personal growth, and impact for women changemakers.’
Gabrielle describes Mission Impact’s mission as ‘elevating one million women with new leadership training by the year 2026.’ They’re partnering with purpose-driven companies across the world who want to support their mission and drive the change, she explains.
She also shares her expertise with women investors and creators at Web3 Equity, an organization that pursues gender equity in this space by increasing knowledge, networks and resources.
In a recent LinkedIn article, Gabrielle wrote that she ‘fell down the cryptocurrency rabbit hole’ in 2021 after two years of doing humanitarian work in several countries. Since then, she’s become completely immersed in crypto culture, continuing to ‘be transported to surreal places’ daily.
Gabrielle jokes in blogs that she’s been buzzing with adrenaline as she ‘loses one crypto virginity after another – my first NFT, my first bitcoin purchase, my first rave in the metaverse.’
But she stresses in her website blog Tiptoe into Crypto, that she became a crypto advocate for humanitarian reasons, adding that ‘crypto is for the millions, not for the millionaires.’

The Metaverse, she comments, refers to the many virtual environments (like Decentraland, Superworld, Sandbox, and Roblox), where you can ‘socialize, shop, collaborate, work, find entertainment, and online experiences.’
As for the web3, Gabrielle describes its energy as mind-blowing, asserting it will impact every industry in the next decade – finance, technology, business, education, fashion, and government, and completely transform social media as we know it.
And how will the Metaverse affect us? “It offers new environments for work and play, while AR/VR/AI enhances learning for school and work.”
She’s aware of the shortcomings, but despite well-meaning friends trying to save her from the Big Bad Wolf of web3, she remarks technology is ‘just a tool and it’s up to us to decide how we want to use it.’
And with few trusted information sources and many people not understanding the Metaverse, education currently remains the biggest barrier for adoption.
1 2 Miami, USA Yet her excitement about creating a healthy and happy web3 world for humanity is palpable. So too, her trying to live by example, with integrity, enthusiasm, and kindness.
And her humorous description of web3’s people and culture as ‘one of the wildest, most vibrant, meme-crazed gangs’ she’s ever joined, it makes perfect sense when she emphatically says, ‘my membership is for life!’
